History

NEPA Lacrosse (also known as NEPAlacrosse.com) was founded in March 2024 with the goal of providing dedicated, modern coverage of high school lacrosse throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. Its primary coverage centers on varsity programs within the PIAA District 2 footprint, particularly teams competing in the Wyoming Valley Conference (WVC).

What began as an Instagram and Facebook page quickly developed into much more. During the spring 2024 season, NEPA Lacrosse launched its first website, adding game stories, statistics and additional coverage to complement its growing social media presence. Through scores, graphics, player recognition, recruiting news, statistics and postseason coverage, NEPA Lacrosse quickly became a consistent source for following the sport across the region.

By the conclusion of 2024, NEPA Lacrosse had established itself as a go-to platform for high school lacrosse coverage in Northeastern Pennsylvania. From that foundation, the organization has continued to elevate its coverage and expand what it offers players, coaches, programs, families and fans with each passing season.

In 2025, NEPA Lacrosse expanded beyond traditional media coverage by launching the NEPA Lacrosse Senior All-Star Games, bringing a regional senior lacrosse all-star event back to Northeastern Pennsylvania for the first time since 2021. The event was created to give graduating boys and girls players one final opportunity to compete, represent their schools and celebrate the growth of lacrosse throughout the region.

The Senior All-Star Games returned for a second year in June 2026 at Abington Heights High School. The event featured 61 players, including representation from nine of the 11 boys programs and six of the 14 girls programs competing in PIAA District 2 that season, along with additional players from outside the district. The event remained free to the community and featured local sponsors, regional media coverage and a live broadcast.

NEPA Lacrosse further expanded its postseason recognition in June 2026 with the introduction of its own All-District awards program. Eight award categories were recognized separately for boys and girls, resulting in 18 total honorees after two awards featured co-winners. Each recipient was recognized with an individual video interview and social media feature and received a commemorative plaque.

The platform also selected 22-player Boys and Girls All-District Teams recognizing top performers from the 2026 season. Ten-player Boys and Girls Rising Stars Teams were additionally introduced to recognize standout freshmen and sophomores and highlight the next generation of lacrosse talent across Northeastern Pennsylvania.

As NEPA Lacrosse prepared for the 2026–27 athletic year and its fourth season of coverage, the organization took another major step forward by completely rebuilding NEPALacrosse.com. The project marked a return to the dedicated website presence first introduced during the spring of 2024, now elevated into a significantly more comprehensive platform.

The rebuilt website brings scores, schedules, statistics, team pages, news, rankings, recruiting coverage, postseason awards, historical information and event content together in one centralized home. While social media remains an important part of NEPA Lacrosse's coverage, the expanded website provides a permanent and more in-depth resource for following lacrosse throughout the region.

From a social media page launched in March 2024 to a growing digital media and events platform, NEPA Lacrosse has continued to raise the level of its coverage each season. Entering 2026-27, the organization remains focused on documenting the game, recognizing the people who make it possible and continuing to elevate lacrosse throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania.
